【摘要】:Thecompressivestrengthofspecimenspreparedandtestedbythistestmethodalongwithdensityandvoidspropertiesareusedforlaboratorymixdesignofbituminousmixtures.OneapproachisdescribedinASTMSTP252.Thistestmethodalsodescribesthemethodsformolding,curing,andtestingofspecimensbeingevaluatedbyTestMethodD1075.Whenusedinconjunctionwithothermixturephysicalproperties,thecompressivestrengthmaycontributetotheoverallmixturecharacterizationandisonefactordeterminingitssuitabilityforuseundergivenloadingconditionsandenvironmentasahighwaypavingmaterial.TypicalvaluesofminimumcompressivestrengthsfordesignofbituminousmixturesbythistestmethodfordifferenttrafficdensitiesaregiveninTable401-1ofthex201C;StandardSpecificationsforConstructionofRoadsandBridgesonFederalHighwayProjects.x201D;Somestatedepartmentsoftransportationandfederalagencieshavespecificrequirementsoftheirownbasedontheirexperiencewiththistestmethod.Theagenciesshouldbeconsultedfortheirspecificrequirementsifworkistomeettheirstandards.Reheatedmixturesarepermissibleinthistestmethod,buttheresultingcompressivestrengthswillbehigherthanfornewlypreparedmixturesduetothechangeinthebinderviscosity,anelementofthecompressivestrengthasmeasuredundertheseloadingconditionsandtemperature.Note18212;Thequalityoftheresultsproducedbythisstandardaredependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingtheprocedureandthecapability,calibration,andmaintenanceoftheequipmentused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofStandardPracticeD3666aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting/sampling/inspection/etc.UsersofthisstandardarecautionedthatcompliancewithD3666alonedoesnotcompletelyassurereliableresults.Reliableresultsdependonmanyfactors;followingthesuggestionsofD3666orsomesimilaracceptableguidelineprovidesameansofevaluatingandcontrollingsomeofthosefactors.1.1Thistestmethodprovidesamethodformeasuringthecompressivestrengthofcompactedbituminousmixtures.Itisforusewithspecimensweighed,batched,mixed,andfabricatedinthelaboratory,aswellasformixturesmanufacturedinahot-mixplant.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

Scope:This specification covers an irradiated, thermally-stabilized, modified polyolefin plastic in the form of thin-wall, heat-shrinkable tubing with a low recovery temperature. This tubing has been used typically as a very flexible, electrical insulation tubing whose diameter can be reduced to a predetermined size by heating to 100 degrees C (212 degrees F) or higher, but usage is not limited to such applications. This tubing is stable for continuous exposure from -55 to +135 degrees C (-67 to +275 degrees F).
