【摘要】:Theacidityofachrometanningliquor,asdeterminedbythistestmethod,israrelyemployedassuch.Thisresultisnormallycombinedwiththeresultsofachromiumanalysis(seeTestMethodD3898)todetermineapropertyoftheliquorcalledbasicity.Thisproperty,equaltothepercentagebywhichanionsinanormalchromicsalthavebeenreplacedbyhydroxylinthesolutionbeinganalyzed,iscloselyrelatedtothetanningbehaviorofthesolution.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthetitratableacidityofchromiumtanningliquors.Bytitratableacidityismeantnotonlyfreeacidity,whichisrarelypresent,butalsoanionscombinedwithweaklybasiccationssuchasChromium(III),whichcanbetitratedwithbaseatthephenolphthaleinendpoint.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
